ABOUT Brian Kaufman
With over 13 years’ experience in commercial real estate finance, Brian Kaufman, vice president, has underwritten and originated over $700 million of debt and equity placements in over 100 transactions. Mr. Kaufman joined Walker & Dunlop as a result of the George Elkins Mortgage Banking Company acquisition and will be based of the Company’s Sacramento office.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Kaufman served as a director at George Elkins Mortgage Banking Company, where he began his career in the San Diego office in 2001, originating and closing loans from institutional, life company, and private debt sources. In 2006 Mr. Kaufman joined Waller, Kaufman and Sutter in Sacramento, California where he continued to finance institutional and private debt as well as focus on commercial entitlement and development management services. In April 2013, Mr. Kaufman rejoined the Elkins team, opening the Northern California office in Sacramento with Curtis Kaufman.
Mr. Kaufman graduated from Willamette University in Salem Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in business economics and a minor in rhetoric and media studies and has been a licensed salesperson with the California DRE since 2001.
Beyond the Company, Mr. Kaufman has been a volunteer Varsity Baseball coach at Sacramento High School, serves on the Sacramento Make a Wish Foundation advisory board, and is an active booster of the Willamette University Rugby Club.
