Walker & Dunlop Hires Managing Director in Atlanta, Continuing to Expand its Capital Markets Platform

Bethesda, Maryland – December 4, 2017

Walker & Dunlop, Inc. (NYSE: WD) announced today that it has hired Gregory Krafcik as a managing director on its Capital Markets team, which brokers commercial real estate loans to life insurance companies, banks, and commercial mortgage-backed security (CMBS) lenders and sources Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and United States Department for Housing and Urban Development loans. Mr. Krafcik is based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Atlanta, Georgia office and is responsible for sourcing and structuring permanent, bridge, and construction loans for all commercial real estate property types.

As one of Fortune’s Fastest Growing Companies, Walker & Dunlop continues to expand across the United States and is dedicated to increasing the presence of its Capital Markets platform. The acquisitions of certain assets from George Elkins Mortgage Banking Company in November 2016 and Deerwood Capital in February 2017, as well as strategic new hires like Gregory Krafcik, have contributed to a significant increase in the Company’s brokered loan originations. In the first three quarters of 2017, the Capital Markets team closed a record $5 billion in total brokered volume, up 22 percent from the full-year 2016 figure.

Mr. Krafcik has over 12 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and has completed over $4 billion in loan originations utilizing life insurance, CMBS, and Agency capital sources. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Krafcik served as managing director at Greystone & Co. where he was head of CMBS originations for the Southeast. Before Greystone & Co., Mr. Krafcik served as a director at Prudential Mortgage Capital Company (PMCC) where he was head of originations for the Southeast.
