Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide similarly identifying employees with the space for community building and unification. These groups allow for increased awareness, inclusion, and support within the workplace. We currently have six ERGs at Walker & Dunlop.
Caregiver ERG: A community built to provide connection and resources for W&D employees with caregiving responsibilities for children, family members, and loved ones. Members assist one another in managing work, family, and other caring responsibilities by sharing resources, experiences and providing guidance and encouragement.
Military & Veteran ERG: A forum for veterans, active military service members, and their families and supporters to collaborate and share experiences that will promote awareness among W&D employees of military service member challenges and opportunities.
Unidos at Walker & Dunlop: A community for W&D’s Hispanic, Latino/a, and Latinx employees and their allies that aims to promote cultural diversity and inclusion of these groups across the company. Unidos works to enhance the professional development of W&D’s Hispanic employees and celebrate their achievements, ultimately helping to attract and retain top talent.
W&D+: A group for LGBTQ+ employees that aims to allow W&D employees and their allies to feel valued, connected, and safe as their true selves, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. The group offers personal and professional development opportunities, advocates for progressive and inclusive policies and programs, and creates spaces to build community among colleagues.
W&D Black Empowered Network: A space for Black employees of W&D to grow and advance their careers through sharing experiences, knowledge, and skills. The Network has three goals: (1) Assist Black employees with career advancement and ensure equitable pay and recognition; (2) Build awareness of W&D business lines and career opportunities through interdepartmental events; and (3) Increase the Network’s awareness, profile, and participation in company initiatives and community outreach.
Women of Walker & Dunlop (WoWD): A community that collaborates with company leaders and business allies to champion the strategic recruitment, retention, and advancement of women within W&D. Through education, events, and advocacy, WoWD empowers women and promotes gender parity throughout the organization.
