about David Levy

David Levy is Executive Vice President & Chief Credit Officer at Walker & Dunlop and is responsible for overseeing risk across all of the company’s lending programs. Mr. Levy is also a member of the Company’s Operations, Administrative, and Risk Committees.

Mr. Levy has more than 35 years of experience in the multifamily industry and a proven, long-term, track record in multifamily risk evaluation including 27 years as a Chief Underwriter or above. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop in 2012, Mr. Levy was a Managing Director and Chief Underwriter at CWCapital where he was the chief underwriter from the inception of their agency lending platform. Mr. Levy has also led underwriting teams which received Fannie Mae’s Excellence in Credit Underwriting Award three times in the past 10 years.

Mr. Levy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he earned a dual master’s degree in both City Planning and Architecture specializing in real estate development. He is also a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI).
