Senior Director
Based in Chicago, Illinois, Senior Director Jordyn Berger is responsible for overseeing the sale, disposition, and marketing of seniors housing properties nationwide. Her area of focus includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing facilities. Ms. Berger has extensive experience working as an advisor to buyers, sellers, and investors, and she also serves as a liaison to an expansive network of capital sources that includes balance sheet lenders, insurance companies, private funds, Agency debt, and the company’s bridge lending program. Since 2007, Ms. Berger has originated over $3 billion in commercial real estate debt and has been involved in the sale of $1 billion in transactions nationwide.
Before joining Walker & Dunlop, Ms. Berger served as Director of Institutional Property Advisors’ (IPA) Seniors Housing group, where she helped launch the seniors housing capital markets practice for the firm. In this role, Ms. Berger helped structure joint ventures between seasoned operators and institutional partners in addition to placing permanent debt, acquisition, and construction financing. Prior to IPA, Ms. Berger was Director of Acquisitions for Enlivant, a private equity backed assisted living owner-operator, and Ventas Inc., a leading publicly traded real estate investment trust with a portfolio of 1,300 seniors housing and healthcare properties across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. There, Ms. Berger focused on value-add and stabilized healthcare assets, sourcing over $1 billion in new acquisitions totaling over 75 assets, as well as completing the firm’s first international transaction in the United Kingdom.
Ms. Berger earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from The University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She is also an active member of the American Seniors Housing Association’s Rising Leaders program.
