Maren Steinberg

Maren Steinberg is Executive Vice President and a board member of WDIP. In addition to managing WDIP’s legacy funds, Ms. Steinberg provides guidance to the company’s management team regarding investment strategy and execution. Ms. Steinberg is a voting member of the firm’s investment committees.

Prior to co-founding WDIP, Ms. Steinberg held the position of Vice President, Operations at GMAC Commercial Mortgage. In this capacity Ms. Steinberg was responsible for all asset management functions, loan servicing, and balance sheet functions. She developed underwriting and asset management policies and procedures. Additionally, Ms. Steinberg managed loan restructures and modifications, as well as capital markets execution for loan syndications. Ms. Steinberg structured and closed in excess of $250 million of commercial real estate loans throughout her time at GMAC.

Before GMAC, Ms. Steinberg served as Director of Development at Royal Investments Corporation (“Royal”), an affiliate of Crown NorthCorp. At Royal, she worked in Sweden and England, serving as a liaison between Crown’s Swedish real estate management company and their investor group. Also while abroad, she developed and implemented business plans for a UK-based loan servicing platform and for individual assets totaling over $300 million. Ms. Steinberg was involved in many aspects of the due diligence process and analysis of an approximately $640 million real estate acquisition in Sweden. She conducted due diligence, negotiations, and contract closings on a European transaction totaling approximately $200 million.

Prior to Royal, Ms. Steinberg served as Eastern Realty Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Steinberg managed cash and investments for the firm’s portfolios. She also provided reporting to investors, while overseeing all due diligence and closings for real estate and other related investments at the firm.

Ms. Steinberg began her career as the Chief Financial Officer of Sargis & Jones, a $22 million commercial construction company, where she managed finances and systems.

Ms. Steinberg holds a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Maryland.
