about Rene Alvarez

Rene Alvarez, Director, is responsible for nationwide loan origination, based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Walnut Creek/San Francisco office. Mr. Alvarez specializes in the origination of multifamily loans through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, life company, and bridge financing.

Mr. Alvarez joined Walker & Dunlop in 2012 and is a member of one of the top-producing origination teams in the country. Throughout his career, Mr. Alvarez has participated in the origination of over $6 billion in transactions. Working with both institutional and family office owners of multifamily properties, he and the team have structured some of the largest transactions in the United States including the $367,000,000 Fannie Mae financing of a 1,459 unit multifamily property.

Mr. Alvarez graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business and economics from Saint Mary’s College of California with an honors concentration in financial services.
