George Melby is a director of multifamily finance at Walker & Dunlop, based in New York City. Mr. Melby is responsible for the origination and transaction management of loans nationwide with a focus on the small balance execution through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s programs.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Melby was an underwriter at Walker & Dunlop, where he was involved in the successful closing of more than $2.5 billion in loans. Throughout his career, Mr. Melby has gained experience in a variety of asset types, including conventional multifamily, student housing, manufactured housing, and affordable housing.

Mr. Melby earned his bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from Cornell University.
