George Melby is a director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in New York, New York. In this role, Melby is responsible for the origination and transaction management of loans nationwide, with a focus on small balance executions through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs.

Prior to his current role, Melby served as an underwriter at Walker & Dunlop, where he was involved in the successful closing of more than $2.5 billion in loans. Throughout his career, he has gained experience across multiple asset types including conventional multifamily, student housing, manufactured housing, and affordable housing.

Melby earned a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from Cornell University.
