Zach Whorton is a director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in New York, New York. In this role, Whorton oversees the procurement, structuring, evaluation, and execution of debt financing across major commercial real estate asset classes nationwide. Since joining Walker & Dunlop, he has facilitated the placement of nearly $5 billion in debt financing across retail, office, industrial, and multifamily properties.
Prior to his current role, Whorton served as an associate director, assistant vice president, senior analyst, and analyst within Walker & Dunlop’s capital markets platform. Before that, he worked in the firm’s government-sponsored enterprise underwriting group, supporting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac underwriting teams.
Whorton earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He served as rush chairman for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and is the alumni chairman for The Lovett School, where he graduated in 2008.
