Senior Vice President, Office Services
Gerene Behrens serves as Senior Vice President of Office Services at Walker & Dunlop and is based out of the company’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. She is responsible for managing over 50 office locations across the United States, playing a key role in Walker & Dunlop’s dramatic growth from five offices since she joined the company in 2010. Ms. Behrens specializes in lease management, space management, workspace strategy, construction project management, operations, and maintenance.
Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Ms. Behrens worked at State Farm Insurance for 12 years, which included her tenure as a Public Affairs Specialist. In this capacity, she was the company’s state-wide liaison in California, among three regional offices focused on community advocacy. Ms. Behrens began her career path in office services at Walker & Dunlop utilizing her project management skills to fulfill her passion for managing facilities, developing suite spaces centered on functionality, and creating more desirable work environments for employees. She started as an Office Manager of Facilities, eventually earning a promotion to her current position as Senior Vice President of Office Services.
Ms. Behrens received a Master of Science in health promotion from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Arts in human relations from Golden Gate University. She holds a TESOL Certification and is a member of the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA). Additionally, she is an avid reader, runner, cyclist, and swimmer.
