Kimberly Schmitz, vice president, is responsible for originating commercial financing opportunities for clients nationwide and is based out of Walker & Dunlop’s New York office. Ms. Schmitz is responsible for originating floating rate first mortgage and mezzanine loans as well as fixed rate CMBS loans, for all real estate asset types. Additionally, she provides Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD financing opportunities. Since joining Walker & Dunlop in 2014, she has orchestrated over $800 million of loans, including $400 million of high yield loans and $280 million of CMBS loans.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Ms. Schmitz served as vice president at Rockwood Real Estate Advisors, where she specialized in real estate debt and equity underwriting, portfolio and asset management, property dispositions, and real estate advisory services. Ms. Schmitz began her career at Rockwood focusing on the hospitality sector and expanded into all major asset classes, performing strategic fund advisory representing over $10.5 billion of real estate, investment sales brokerage of nearly $750 million in total value, and other advisory for an additional $1.1 billion of hotel, multifamily, office, senior housing, and retail assets.
Ms. Schmitz earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
