Heather Cox is a senior vice president of FHA Finance | Underwriting at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Kentucky. In this role, Cox serves as FHA closing manager and oversees Walker & Dunlop’s HUD loan closing department, focusing on streamlining processes, reducing redundancies, developing quality control systems, and managing the delivery of Ginnie Mae securities. She has more than 22 years of experience in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD lending operations and closing management.

Prior to her current role, Cox served in multiple leadership positions within Walker & Dunlop’s FHA finance group, including HUD closing manager. Before joining Walker & Dunlop, she served as a senior closer at Jones Lang LaSalle, where she managed documentation and closing processes for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD multifamily, and senior housing loans. Earlier in her career, she held vice president, compliance officer, and closing manager roles at Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital and spent nearly 14 years at Red Capital Group supporting underwriting, processing, quality control, and closing functions for agency and CMBS transactions.

Cox earned a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Kentucky.
