Jonathan Schwartz

Jonathan Schwartz is a Senior Managing Director, Capital Markets, and Co-Head of Institutional Advisory at Walker & Dunlop. In his role, he is responsible for leading efforts to deliver comprehensive debt and equity financing solutions across all commercial real estate asset classes nationwide. By working in partnership with the firm’s capital markets and investment sales teams, he focuses on broadening client relationships and enhancing Walker & Dunlop’s capital markets capabilities.

With more than 17 years of experience, Mr. Schwartz has executed more than $70 billion in capital markets transactions, including debt financing, joint-venture equity, and loan sales. His track record includes some of the nation’s most high-profile transactions on behalf of blue-chip institutional investors and private owner-operators.

Before joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Schwartz co-founded AKS Capital Partners, one of the country’s top-producing capital markets advisory firms. Earlier in his career, he served as vice chairman and partner at JLL’s New York Debt and Equity Capital Markets practice, where he and his team achieved a 400% increase in group revenue.

Recognized as one of the most influential leaders in commercial real estate finance, Mr. Schwartz has been featured on Commercial Mortgage Observer’s Power 50 list every year since 2017 and was named a Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40 honoree in 2024. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, where he was a four-year letter winner on the Men’s Tennis team and ranked in the top 10 all-time for career singles wins.
