Corporate Responsibility the Walker Way

At Walker & Dunlop, we believe a healthy environment, properly managed resources, and vibrant communities are keys to a secure and prosperous future for all. Our mission is to create communities – with ideas and capital – where people live, work, shop, and play. Human Capital

Our people are our most important asset and a vital driver of our financial success. We seek to continually attract, hire, include, develop, and retain top talent across our organization through our unique culture and robust programs.

Communities

Driven by our mission, values, and culture – The Walker Way – we foster community beyond our workplace by financing affordable housing and contributing to efforts that seek to end homelessness and support the communities in which we live and operate.

Environment

We measure and monitor our carbon footprint, looking for ways to reduce emissions, and facilitating eco-friendly, green financing for our clients. Our operational environmental impact is relatively small and is limited primarily to the office space that we lease and employee travel and commuting. However, Walker & Dunlop is committed to being proactive in this space and making an impact. Since Q1 2024, we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted, a global nonprofit, helping fund their mission of reforestation, tied to the number of transactions we close each quarter.

Governance

Effective corporate governance is critical to executing on our long-term strategy, fulfilling our responsibilities, and delivering value to all our stakeholders. Our governance of Corporate Responsibility related matters reflects our commitment to strong leadership and oversight at the highest levels of senior management up to the Board of Directors.
