Alex Koos is a senior director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, Koos is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing commercial real estate financing transactions, leveraging relationships across Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, CMBS lenders, banks, debt funds, and life insurance companies. During his tenure, he has executed more than $10 billion in debt and equity transactions across 46 states.

Prior to his current role, Koos served as a senior underwriter at Walker & Dunlop, where he underwrote multifamily transactions across conventional, seniors housing, student housing, manufactured housing, and affordable housing for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the firm’s bridge lending platform. Before that, he joined Walker & Dunlop as an underwriting analyst in the GSE credit department and later relocated to the firm’s Irvine, California office to support capital markets production and expand into all asset classes and capital sources.

Koos earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and a minor in philosophy from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He is a native of Connecticut and is an avid hockey and lacrosse player, golfer, and college basketball fan.
