Alex Koos is a director of Capital Markets at Walker & Dunlop, based in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, he is responsible for new loan origination utilizing direct relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, CMBS, banks, debt funds, and life insurance companies. Mr. Koos provides financing solutions to commercials real estate developers and owners nationwide, and throughout his career has been directly involved in providing $1.5 billion of debt for W&D clients.

Prior to this position, he served as an analyst in the multifamily finance underwriting department and worked his way up to a senior underwriter designation, where he personally underwrote more than 150 Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac transactions for conventional multifamily, seniors housing, student housing, manufactured housing, and affordable housing properties.

Mr. Koos earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a focus on finance from Washington & Lee University. An avid hockey and lacrosse player, Mr. Koos also enjoys golfing, surfing, and snowboarding in his free time. He is an active supporter of Washington & Lee, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
