Cody Ela is an associate director of Capital Markets | Institutional Advisory at Walker & Dunlop and is based in New York, New York. In this role, Ela is responsible for the origination and execution of debt and equity capital solutions across all commercial real estate asset classes, ranging from senior debt to joint-venture equity.

Prior to his current role, Ela served as an underwriter in the firm’s GSE underwriting platform, where he specialized in underwriting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily transactions. Before that, he was a senior analyst in GSE underwriting, supporting credit analysis, financial modeling, and transaction execution.

Ela earned a bachelor’s degree in real estate development and finance from the University of Southern California.
