Donald King is executive vice president at Walker & Dunlop, based in Needham, Massachusetts. In his role, he is responsible for the strategic development, including growth and product development, of the multifamily finance, FHA, and capital markets lending platforms. Mr. King has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. King was managing director and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac national program director at CWCapital LLC, where he expanded the firm’s multifamily product offerings and geographic reach through the establishment of a joint venture with a large national brokerage firm and the acquisition of a preeminent West Coast lender. Mr. King also served on CWCapital’s operating committee, credit committee, and ARA Finance’s executive committee. His areas of expertise include debt and equity placements on multifamily, office, retail, and industrial properties, with a specialization in multifamily. Previously, Mr. King served as head of production at Column Guaranteed LLC (CGL), a subsidiary of Credit Suisse, where he oversaw the agency mortgage origination activities of the firm. He also held the position of managing director at Holliday Fenoglio Fowler. Earlier in his career, Mr. King was principal for Lend Lease Corporation’s Housing and Community Investments group and vice president for Lend Lease Corporation’s Mortgage Capital Group, where he specialized in equity, tax credits, and affordable housing, as well as originating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily loans.

Mr. King earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut. Beyond the company, he serves on the Fannie Mae DUS Advisory Council and previously served on the Freddie Mac Targeted Affordable Housing Seller/Servicer Advisory Council. He is also a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) Finance Committee.
