Gerene Behrens is a senior vice president and head of Office Services at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Bethesda, Maryland. In this role, she is responsible for managing more than 50 office locations across the United States, with expertise in lease and space management, workplace strategy, construction project management, operations, and maintenance. Since joining Walker & Dunlop, she has supported the firm’s growth from five offices to more than 50 locations nationwide.

Prior to her current role, Behrens advanced through several positions within Walker & Dunlop’s Office Services team, beginning as an office manager of facilities and applying her project management experience to developing functional and engaging work environments. Before joining Walker & Dunlop, she served as a public affairs specialist at State Farm Insurance, where she acted as a statewide liaison in California focused on community advocacy.

Behrens earned a bachelor’s degree in human relations from Golden Gate University and a master’s degree in health promotion from Marymount University. She holds a TESOL certification and is a member of the International Facility Management Association. Outside of Walker & Dunlop, she enjoys reading, running, cycling, and swimming.
