Jack Hodgkins is a senior vice president and head of Affordable Housing | LIHTC Credit at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Denver, Colorado. In this role, Hodgkins leads credit strategy and underwriting for the firm’s Low Income Housing Tax credit (LIHTC) platform, overseeing investment risk, structuring, and portfolio quality across a national affordable housing portfolio. He has more than 25 years of experience in affordable housing and real estate investment management.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Hodgkins served as managing director at Wells Fargo, where he led affordable housing investment management and oversaw more than $5 billion in equity investments across tax credit funds and direct investments. Before that, he managed a portfolio of more than $1 billion in alternative housing and community development investments and held roles focused on asset management and LIHTC portfolio performance. Earlier in his career, he managed development-stage affordable housing investments and led asset management teams responsible for stabilized multifamily portfolios.
Hodgkins earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cornell University and a master’s degree in real estate development from Columbia University. He formerly served on the board of governors of the Affordable Housing Investors Council (AHIC) and was co-chair of its asset management committee, where he helped guide industry standards and risk management practices for affordable housing investments.
