Joseph Platt is a managing director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, he leads the Kansas City loan production team and is responsible for debt origination and equity financing for private and public real estate owners through relationships with capital sources including insurance companies, investment banks, government agencies, commercial banks, and credit institutions. He has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience and has structured financings across property types including industrial, retail, multifamily, office, hospitality, medical office, and seniors housing. His experience includes permanent financing, mezzanine debt, equity placement, and bridge and construction financing.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Platt served as a senior vice president at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital for nearly 20 years, where he was consistently recognized among the firm’s top producers. Earlier in his career, he served as a vice president with RBS Greenwich Capital and Nomura Securities in Chicago and began his career as an analyst with Baird & Warner Real Estate Capital, now Northmarq.
Platt earned a bachelor’s degree in real estate finance from the University of Arizona.
