Kara Proffitt is an associate director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Irvine, California. In this role, she is responsible for originating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac financing across a range of asset types, including manufactured housing communities, conventional multifamily, affordable multifamily, student housing, lease-up properties, and build-for-rent communities. She has more than seven years of experience managing a nationwide pipeline of Agency loans.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Proffitt served as a senior financial analyst with Wells Fargo’s Multifamily Capital team, where she supported multifamily loan originations through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. She conducted due diligence, research, and financial and statistical analysis while facilitating multifamily financing transactions and supporting affordable housing initiatives.
Proffitt earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. She serves on the leadership team for Walker & Dunlop’s Women of Walker & Dunlop (WoWD) employee resource group.
