Matt Shannon
Director, Multifamily Finance
Matt Shannon is a director of Multifamily Finance at Walker & Dunlop. In his role, he is responsible for nationwide new loan originations and is based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Austin, TX office. He focuses on sourcing new multifamily loans, primarily through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and the company’s proprietary bridge loan executions. Mr. Shannon brings more than 10 years of multifamily experience ranging from one-off loan executions to large structured and portfolio transactions.
Mr. Shannon joined Walker & Dunlop in 2014 as an analyst in the underwriting department, where he was responsible for underwriting over $1.5 billion in loan volume. In 2019, Mr. Shannon transitioned into a production analyst role and has since held several positions within the real estate finance department of Walker & Dunlop. Throughout his career, Mr. Shannon has participated in the origination of over $3.7 billion in loan volume nationwide, including market rate, affordable, student, seniors, and manufactured housing properties.
Mr. Shannon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business economics from Brown University, where he was a member of the football team. Mr. Shannon is an active supporter of the National Marrow Donor Program.
