Mike Darling is a senior managing director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Needham, Massachusetts. In this role, he is responsible for originating market-rate and affordable multifamily loans, with a primary emphasis on the Northeast. During his 19 years with the firm, he has produced more than $13 billion in volume, primarily through GSE, HUD and life company executions.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Darling served as senior vice president at CWCapital, where he originated more than $1.6 billion with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD. Before that, he was at Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, where he was involved in the underwriting and closing of more than $3 billion in multifamily loans and originated more than $150 million in Agency loans. He began his real estate career with General Investment & Development Co.’s management division, Windsor Management.
Darling earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Nichols College. He is an active member of the Real Estate Finance Association of Greater Boston and the National Multifamily Housing Council.
