Patrick Smith is a director of Capital Markets | EMEA at Walker & Dunlop and is based in London, United Kingdom. In this role, he is responsible for commercial real estate debt advisory and back-leverage advisory throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. He has more than 10 years of real estate finance experience across both Europe and the United States.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Smith worked on the securitized products and structured finance desk at NatWest Markets, where he structured and executed commercial real estate loan-on-loan facilities for private credit fund clients. Before that, he was part of the EMEA debt and structured finance team at JLL, advising institutional and private equity sponsors on asset-level financing across the United Kingdom and broader EMEA region. He began his career in the United States with Greystone, Barclays, and Morgan Stanley in roles including CMBS trading and structuring and multifamily loan origination.
Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Kent. He also earned a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in capital markets and asset management from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and a master’s degree in finance from London Business School.
