Peter Cartmell is a director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Los Angeles, California. In this role, Cartmell provides financing solutions to commercial real estate developers and owners nationwide and specializes in correspondent life insurance company financing for industrial, multifamily, and retail properties.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Cartmell served as an associate at George Elkins Mortgage Banking, where he began conducting loan servicing inspections while in high school, later becoming an analyst and advancing into an origination role. Earlier in his career, he worked as a senior underwriter at Verengo Solar, where he underwrote and designed more than 1,000 residential solar installations.

Cartmell earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Saint Joseph’s University, where he won a gold medal at the Dad Vail Regatta.
