Tim Thompson
Managing Director
Tim Thompson is a managing director of real estate finance, specializing in agency loans at Walker & Dunlop, based in Austin, Texas. In his role, he is responsible for originating small balance, conventional and affordable Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac financing, as well as FHA, Bridge and CMBS commercial real estate loans. Mr. Thompson brings 20 years of experience in multifamily real estate to Walker & Dunlop.
Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Thompson served as managing director at Greystone, overseeing the firm’s loan origination. During his tenure at Greystone, he originated and closed more than 450 transactions, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and CMBS multifamily loans. Prior to that, he worked as an underwriter at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital.
Mr. Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Alabama. In 2012, he served as vice president of the Bay Area Mortgage Association. Mr. Thompson is also a dedicated supporter of Agape International Missions, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and The Joshua Fund.
