Tim Thompson is a managing director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Austin, Texas. In this role, Thompson is responsible for originating small balance, conventional, and affordable agency financing through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as FHA, bridge, and CMBS loans for commercial real estate assets nationwide. He has more than 20 years of multifamily real estate experience.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Thompson served as a managing director at Greystone, where he oversaw loan origination and closed more than 450 multifamily financing transactions across Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and CMBS platforms. Earlier in his career, he worked as an underwriter at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital.
Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Alabama. He served as vice president of the Bay Area Mortgage Association in 2012 and supports nonprofit organizations including Agape International Missions, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and The Joshua Fund.
