Todd Johnson is a managing director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, Johnson is responsible for sourcing and placing structured finance capital for multifamily assets nationwide and specializes in structuring institutional joint venture equity and preferred equity for owners, operators, and developers. He has more than 20 years of industry experience and has originated transactions exceeding $8 billion, arranging financing on both deal-by-deal and programmatic bases with institutional investors.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Johnson served as director of equity products at Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital, where he developed the firm’s equity markets business. Before that, he founded and served as managing partner of Brush Island Capital, where he focused on arranging institutional joint venture equity and preferred equity for multifamily sponsors nationwide. Earlier in his career, he led urban condominium development initiatives at Minerva Real Estate Investments in Atlanta.
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Millsaps College.
