Executive Vice President, Multifamily
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Donald King, executive vice president, and member of the Company’s executive committee is responsible for the strategic development, including growth and product development, of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending platforms.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. King held the position of managing director and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac national program director at CWCapital LLC, where he expanded the firm’s multifamily product offerings and geographic reach through the establishment of a joint venture with a large, national brokerage firm, and the acquisition of a preeminent West Coast lender. Mr. King also served on CWCapital’s operating committee, credit committee, and ARA Finance’s executive committee. Mr. King’s areas of expertise include debt and equity placements on multifamily, office, retail, and industrial properties, with a specialization in multifamily.
Previously, Mr. King served as the head of production at Column Guaranteed LLC (CGL), a subsidiary of Credit Suisse, where he oversaw the Agency mortgage origination activities of the firm. Previously, Mr. King held the position of managing director at Holliday Fenoglio Fowler. Earlier in his career, Mr. King served as principal for Lend Lease Corporation’s Housing and Community Investments group, and vice president for Lend Lease Corporation’s Mortgage Capital Group, where he specialized in equity, tax credits, and affordable housing as well as originating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily loans.
Mr. King earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut.
Beyond the Company, Mr. King serves on the Freddie Mac Targeted Affordable Housing Seller/Servicer Advisory Council and is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) Finance Committee.
