Geoff Smith is a senior managing director, Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners | Head of Debt at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Connecticut. In this role, he is responsible for investing in real estate debt and equity assets nationwide. He specializes in investment banking, mortgage origination, trading, syndication, and capital formation and has invested more than $20 billion throughout his career. His experience includes creating and leading commercial real estate debt, mezzanine, and equity platforms, serving on investment committees and boards, and developing capital formation strategies.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Smith held senior leadership roles at Hudson Realty Capital, Natixis, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, and Nomura Securities, where he focused on origination, credit, asset management, and trading.

Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from Duke University.
