Based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Atlanta, Georgia office, Managing Director Katie Runyan specializes in multifamily loan originations for a wide variety of asset types nationwide. Her experience includes arranging senior debt, supplemental debt, and equity placements from various capital sources, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life companies, debt funds, and HUD. Mrs. Runyan has nearly 15 years of industry experience and has been directly involved in over $10 billion of loan financings throughout her career. Over the past three years, Mrs. Runyan and her team have originated over $1 billion in annual loan volume and were ranked within Walker & Dunlop’s top three origination teams.
Before joining Walker & Dunlop in 2012, Mrs. Runyan served as Vice President at CWCapital and specialized in multifamily loan originations. Prior to this, Mrs. Runyan was a multifamily underwriter at Column Guaranteed, a subsidiary Credit Suisse, where she began her career in commercial real estate.
Mrs. Runyan graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Southern Methodist University.
Mrs. Runyan also serves as co-chair and co-founder of the Best Practices and Leadership Committee for Walker & Dunlop’s Women’s Initiative, where she has created employee resource groups and the Athena Award, which recognizes employees for exemplary achievements.
Beyond the company, Mrs. Runyan is a member of both the National Multi Housing Council and Mortgage Banker’s Association. She is also an active supporter of two nonprofit organizations: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Kyle Pease Foundation.
