about Kyle Peterson

Kyle Peterson, Managing Director, joined Walker & Dunlop’s Chicago office in 2015. Mr. Peterson focuses on loan originations through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, CMBS, banks, pension funds, private debt funds, and life insurance companies. Throughout his career, Mr. Peterson has arranged over $1 billion of capital, deployed through numerous structures, including permanent financing, construction, bridge, mezzanine, and equity placement.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Peterson was Vice President for Herman & Kittle, one of the nation’s largest affordable housing developers. During his tenure, he was part of a team that acquired and developed more than 4,500 market rate and affordable multifamily apartments across the country. Prior to his time with Herman & Kittle, Mr. Peterson was the Vice President of development for Banner Real Estate Group, a privately owned real estate investment firm in Northbrook, Illinois.

Mr. Peterson holds a Master of Arts in real estate from the Liautaud Graduate School of Business at the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Beyond the company, Mr. Peterson is a member of the Rho Epsilon Real Estate Association, UIC Real Estate Group, Lamda Alpha International Land Economics Society, and a board member for Heartland Housing. He is also a passionate Chicago Cubs fan, a husband, and a father of two. In his spare time, Mr. Peterson enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering.
