Matt Barnett is a managing director of Capital Markets | Investment Sales at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Denver, Colorado. In this role, he is responsible for the marketing and sale of multifamily assets throughout the Denver and Mountain West markets. Since joining the firm in 2021, he has advised institutional and private clients on multifamily investment sales. He has more than 15 years of experience in the sale, acquisition, and advisory of multifamily assets in the Denver region. Together with his team, he has sold more than 85,000 units totaling more than $12 billion in multifamily property transactions.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Barnett served as a senior vice president with CBRE’s Institutional Group, where he focused on multifamily investment sales in the Denver region. Before that, he owned and operated a distribution company in Chicago and worked as a derivatives trader.

Barnett earned a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business.
