Sam Thompson is a director of Capital Markets | Investment Sales at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Portland, Oregon. In this role, he is responsible for the sale and disposition of age-restricted apartments, independent living facilities, and active adult communities nationwide. He advises private investors, institutional advisors, REITs, and developers and draws on prior experience in construction and project management to support client investment objectives.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Thompson served as a vice president in Marcus & Millichap’s National Seniors Housing Group, where he facilitated the acquisition and sale of seniors housing assets across the Southwestern United States. Before that, he worked at Howard S. Wright Constructors and Glumac, where he focused on construction project management, energy efficiency analysis, and sustainable design initiatives for commercial real estate projects.

Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in planning, public policy, and management from the College of Architecture and Allied Arts at the University of Oregon.
