Claudio V.R. Sgobba is a senior managing director of Capital Markets and co-head of EMEA at Walker & Dunlop and is based in London, United Kingdom. In this role, Sgobba focuses on sourcing and structuring a wide range of commercial real estate capital solutions, including senior, mezzanine, whole-loan, bridge, and loan-on-loan financings, as well as equity joint ventures and recapitalizations. His team has more than 60 years of combined experience across the United Kingdom, Western Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, and have completed transactions exceeding $70 billion since 2005. Sgobba has more than 20 years of experience as an institutional investor, investment banker, and capital advisor.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Sgobba was the founding managing partner of Artega Capital, a fiduciary real estate capital markets firm. Earlier in his career, he spent a decade advising clients on mortgage banking, joint venture equity, and structured capital at JLL and HFF in London. He also held roles at Dubai World, Standard Chartered Bank in the Dubai International Financial Centre, and Wintrust Financial in Chicago.

Sgobba earned a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from DePaul University and a master’s degree in business, with a concentration in commercial real estate finance and investments, from the DePaul Driehaus College of Business.
