Daniel Barone is a director of FHA Finance at Walker & Dunlop. In his role, he is responsible for senior housing, skilled nursing, and hospital financing within the HUD, bridge financing, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and alternative financings options at Walker & Dunlop. Throughout his 15-year career, he has underwritten over $1B of HUD 232 loans.

Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Barone served as the vice president – senior underwriter at Capital One, where he worked on underwriting healthcare transactions for the HUD 232 LEAN Program.

Mr. Barone earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from The William Paterson University of New Jersey.  He also currently sits as the Director of Finance on the Healthcare Mortgagee Advisory

Council (HMAC), a non-profit organization that partners with HUD on program education and improvements. Mr. Barone lives in Mount Pleasant, S.C. with his wife, and his two sons. In his free time, he enjoys coaching his son’s little league baseball teams, where he lives out his dream of being as mediocre of a coach as he was a baseball player.
