Doug McDaniel is a senior director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, he is responsible for new loan originations for multifamily properties nationwide, with a focus on manufactured housing and student housing. Since joining the firm’s multifamily finance department, he has been directly involved in the origination and closing of more than $8 billion in Agency financing.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, McDaniel worked as an Agency underwriter at Greystone, where he served as lead underwriter for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily debt products. He also held various roles within the underwriting and production teams.

McDaniel earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. He was recognized as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40. He lives in Birmingham, Alabama, with his wife, Mary Grace, their daughter, Max, and two sons, Louis and John.
