Jim Murphy is a senior director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Miami, Florida. In this role, he is responsible for the origination and structuring of agency loans for multifamily properties across the United States. He has more than 30 years of industry experience and has facilitated the origination and underwriting of approximately $14 billion in multifamily loans throughout his career. He specializes in the origination and structuring of Agency, HUD, and Capital Markets financing for multifamily properties, as well as office, retail, hospitality, and industrial assets nationwide.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Murphy served as a vice president at CWCapital, where he helped originate and underwrite more than $4.5 billion in transaction volume through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and capital markets executions. Before that, he was a vice president at Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, Inc.
Murphy earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York at Cortland.
