Sean Bastian is a senior director of capital markets at Walker & Dunlop, based in New York. In his role, he is responsible for the firm’s execution and origination efforts for commercial real estate loans and equity investments across asset classes, nationwide. Mr. Bastian has been involved in the underwriting, execution, and origination of over $5.0 billion of debt and equity in his seven years of commercial real estate experience.

Prior to Walker & Dunlop’s acquisition of AKS Capital Partners in 2020, Mr. Bastian was a vice president at AKS, a leading capital markets advisory firm focused on facilitating capital placement for real estate developers, owners, and operators. Before that, Mr. Bastian started his career holding various positions at JLL, where he assisted in the underwriting and execution of debt and equity transactions for the firm’s top-producing capital markets group.

Mr. Bastian earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. In 2021, he was also named to Commercial Observer’s Top 25 Debt Brokers and Lenders Under 35 in Commercial Real Estate Finance.
