Sean Bastian is a senior director of Capital Markets | Institutional Advisory at Walker & Dunlop and is based in New York, New York. In this role, he is responsible for execution and origination efforts for commercial real estate loans and equity investments across asset classes nationwide. Over his nine years of commercial real estate experience, he has been involved in the underwriting, execution, and origination of more than $7 billion in debt and equity transactions.

Prior to Walker & Dunlop’s acquisition of AKS Capital Partners in 2020, Bastian served as a vice president at AKS Capital Partners, where he focused on facilitating capital placement for real estate developers, owners, and operators. Earlier in his career, he held roles at JLL, assisting in the underwriting and execution of debt and equity transactions for the firm’s top-producing capital markets group.

Bastian earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. In 2021, he was named to Commercial Observer’s Top 25 Debt Brokers and Lenders Under 35 in Commercial Real Estate Finance.
