Steve Mentesana is a senior managing director of FHA Finance | Production at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Dallas, Texas. In this role, Mentesana is responsible for originating multifamily loans with a focus on HUD lending programs. He has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience and extensive expertise in HUD refinance, healthcare, and construction lending products.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mentesana served as a senior managing director at Berkadia. Before that, he served as president of Encore Multi-Family LLC, where he focused on the development and acquisition of multifamily properties. Earlier in his career, he originated FHA and conventional healthcare loans at GMAC Commercial Mortgage and Malone Mortgage Company and worked in commercial development and appraisal with a focus on healthcare, site selection, and feasibility analysis.

Mentesana earned degrees in accounting and economics from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
