Justin Nelson is a senior managing director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Denver, Colorado. In this role, he is responsible for financing income-producing properties nationwide including office, apartment, hospitality, industrial, and retail assets. Since 2012, he has arranged financing for a wide range of institutional clients, including private equity and pension funds, and has completed transactions with over 100 capital sources, with loan sizes ranging from $2 million to over $150 million.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Nelson served as a vice president at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital. Earlier in his career, he began as a development associate at Gorman & Company, Inc., where he structured and placed Low-Income Housing Tax Credits for affordable housing developments across the Midwest and financed more than $100 million in projects utilizing public and private capital sources including Brownfield grants, federal HOME funds, municipal tax increment financing, and green program incentives.
Nelson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Graaskamp Center for Real Estate, graduating with high honors. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council, the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks, the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Mortgage Bankers Association. He is also active with community organizations including Lighthouse Youth Center, Christ Body Ministries, and the Rocky Mountain Food Pantry.
