Joe Tarantino is a managing director of Capital Markets | Real Estate Finance at Walker & Dunlop and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, Tarantino is responsible for structuring multifamily transactions across multiple lending platforms, including agency lenders, life insurance companies, banks, and debt funds. He has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience and has specialized in multifamily finance for more than 20 years, where he has overseen over $10 billion in loan originations. He has extensive experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac conventional loans, structured transactions, portfolio loans, and affordable housing transactions.

Prior to his current role, Tarantino was a deputy chief underwriter before advancing to senior director. Before joining Walker & Dunlop, he served as a national account manager at Fannie Mae and as a senior underwriter at CWCapital.

Tarantino earned his bachelor's degree in real estate from Georgia State University.
